Server / Cloud is like a high-speed, high-specification computer that remains on 24 x 7 x 365.
  • Server serves your website to everyone on the internet. Server (or Cloud) consists of high speed processors and data storage devices that are operational day and night, all seven days a week and all 365 days a year. This ensures that your website is always available.
  • The only difference between server and cloud is in terms of specifications. In case of server, the resources (storage, bandwidth, processor, RAM, etc.) are defined upfront. So, server has well defined resource specifications and monthly / annual costs. Cloud denotes servers that have flexibility in terms specifications and as businesses scale up or down, specifications can be quickly upgraded or downgraded. This flexibility comes at a price and cloud is generally more expensive as compared to an equivalent dedicated or virtual private server.
  • Server and Cloud fees are periodic (monthly or annual) and could range from about US$ 10 per month to thousands of US$ per month.
